Millau Bridge

There has been some mention of this bridge in France which at 336 metres high is the worlds tallest bridge, by the likes of saddo's like Dibble and myself.

There's a great picture of it on pages 6 & 7 in the November issue of Ride Magazine.

Its a good excuse to ride thru the Massif Central in France but be warned you cannot stop on the bridge, the best views are from the road below.

If you read Pronto you will find out that I went over the bridge on my way to Barcelona and back.

There is a viewing/rest area on the southbound carraige way on the north side of the bride.

I can only say that it really is worth stopping and having a look, the bridge is a long way off the ground!

I too went over it only last month, will post some pics when I can...

Truly awesome. Especially if you stand under it and look up! The road down there is great too, its a red "N" road, can't remember the number right now, but quite a few hairpins (some are down hill which prove to be real fun!).

Was there last year before it was finished.

It'll take an age off the journey south now you don't have to go through Millau town and then back up the twisty cliff side road onto the plateau. Used to be a really cool road until they changed it from two lanes each way to one lane.
