Neil, judging by those picture, you've got superb skills, mate. Those airtubes look great. Would it be too cheeky to ask you for a repair job on a couple of airtubes? Just small cracks, no pieces missing. I'll be glad to show you as a sponsor on my race bike. You are about to start this as a business, aren't you? Aren't you?! No! You should, you know.

no plans to start as a business . . . . . yet! So far it's just been for myself and friends and acquantances.

Felix, I'd be happy to take a look at your tubes, see what can be done. In the first instance (and to save you sending them to me at the moment) can you take a few pics of them?

Cheers, Neil.

P.S. Thanks for the kind words, at this rate I won't be able to squeeze my head through the door!!!

Just had a word with the guys in the carbon shop and they say use locktite 9323 to bond carbon together and hysol 11 epoxy resin as a filler.
Thats what holds the race car together.

I think we could do with some in our engines ??

Thanks RR,

The biggest problem is that there is a void between the two parts so I need something that'll both fill the void and bond the 2 parts together at the same time.

Spoke to 3M this afternoon and they've recommended one of their products, DP490. It's black, fills voids, sets hard, is oil resistant, has a very high adhesion factor and is designed to be used with carbon fiber. Sounded ideal so I've ordered some.

Fingers crossed and all that!

Cheers, Neil.

Hey, what do you know. I was almost right with the DP460. Glad you got a result, Neil.

No, thank you!

Wouldn't have thought about 3M - give yourself a big pat on the back mate!

Cheers, Neil.
