The final deal on the table is my 2 bikes plus £400 for the 2000 748 with 10000 miles. They would MOT it, give it a 3 month warranty and get a full service done at a Ducati dealer.

Only niggles were:

1. tyres will need changing soon (they would not stretch that far)
2. Front indicators on upside down (accident) but HPI was clear...
its ringing alarm bells to me this bike
it definitely needs belts but what about if it need rockers and so on
I cant see them paying this dealer for everything that needs or may need doing.
be careful
I know its all about the trade in. but don't get sucked in to something that might cost you a bit more in the long run.
I still think you should go for a 748. maybe just not this one.

I'm with Keefer ... Paul, don't get burned, you'll end up resenting the bike.

And you need to luuuuuuuurve it

I am still pondering.

If I went for it it would cost £400 and I would ensure I had it in writing (email) that they would get full service done and make any repairs required and also new MOT.

Things worrying me are that 2 new tyres will be needed soon (may fail MOT on them?), lack of documented history and slight bind on clutch when pulling away.

Things tempting me are the excellent part exchange and pretty good price....
