Question Abu Daabi F1 circuit...
WOW! Puts the 'historical' tracks to shame in terms of facilities and services, and they say the drivers love it too...

Is it the future for racetracks world wide? Or a shameless money based suck up job by the F1 bosses? And what do the drivers want? History or future? A win at Monaco, Silverstone, Donnington or at Abu etc?

Whichever, it is still very, very impressive!!

Everything about Abu Dhabi is impressive... I remember being shocked at the scale of the place - roads that were built for S-class Mercs and 7-series Beamers, so much that a 5 series looked small on the road... money like I haven't seen anywhere else

First world facilities for prince's and F1 drivers, third world for most of the other inhabitants.

Very impressive, even if it is a blank cheque book job.

All part of a long term plan to have some sort of economy based on tourism in place for when the oil runs out?

You can't buy history and IMHO you can't create it by throwing money at facilities.

If I could only go and watch one F1 GP a year I'd be down to Monaco or maybe alternatively Spa if it runs.

Ray.
