Yep, the KTM engine sounds like a real gem....can't say I like the KTM styling though, it's all angles, just as bikes are going back to being more curvy...

I wonder if, since biking is still male dominated, whether there is something subliminal going on with our appreciation of what makes a beautiful bike...after all, hands up who prefers their women to be angular?

An unfortunate blend of 916/999 design elements sadly lacking in any aesthetic integrity: Proof that good/great design is more than just the sum of its parts......

yep, lets look forwards not backwards, the 916 etc design is undeniably a classic & a corker ! IMHO the 749/999 is a beauty with futuristic looks, I am sure the replacement will/should be another leap forward in design, not a re-hash

i would like to see elements from the GP bike. How about the pipes exiting thru the seat, the headlights , A slippery aerodydnamic shape.

That does absolutely nothing for me...I really hope they get it right..they cant afford any more disasters can they ?!

Have to say I agree, I think the GP bike is way ahead in styling of anything else, as the 916/996 generation of bikes were.
It would be a shame not to allow the looks of the GP bike to be released to a wider market. The more that desirable Ducatis that are on the streets, the higher the profile of the company will be.
After all I think if you can afford the £37000 asking price of the GP bike, something like a Ducati's new 1200cc looky-likey copy is not really going to spoil owning one.
I'm sure Ducati will make more money from the 999 replacement than the GP bike. What the masses think is more important than upsetting a few rich people who have a GP bike knowing there will be a "cheap" £12000 copy out there.
