Originally posted by Haga-prisas Well, nice heated debate.... at least I have some good questions to ask regarding the warranty. I just got the VIN number from the seller. Ducati Italia will be my first call Monday morning... I will let you guys know.
No news. Still waiting for Ducati's reply about the history of the bike and all the warranty issues solved. Regarding the price, the situation was quite funny. The ducati dealer said it was for sale at 22.000 eur, BUT is posted at his internet site for 20.900 eur. Without starting a negatiation by my part he said straight away he could go down to 20.000 eur!. I found brand new 999R '05 ducati's in Germany for 25.500 eur and '04 models for 20.000eur., just for comparison. Once I know more about the bike, I'll make the guy an offer, probably in between 15K to 18k euros.... depends on parts discounts, extended warranty cost, and so on..... we'll see My major concerns is the reputation of the german dealer as a mechanic, since he rebuild the engine. I'm trying german forums to get feedback from this dealer.....

25.5k eu = £17.5k 20k eu = £13.7k
not a bad price of the 04 bike! if the 05 bikes was a grand or 2 under that i might be booking a ferry ticket and nipping across for one. Wonder what the score is with regards to losing the local tax etc for export
yeap, not a bad price at www.ztk.de they're not a Ducati dealer though, and I think they sell parallel imports from Italy. Prices include VAT if I'm not mistaken.

No need for the ferry. They ship it to you for a "small" amount
And take off 16% from those prices and you'll have the amount you have to pay in Germany. But then you'll have to pay your VAT.
