Alarm fob

I have a Datatool alarm. Soon realised that it is not possible to have the alarm fob on the same keyring as the key because the fob got mangled in the steering damper first time I tried it.
Do other people have two keyrings? ......I'm always afraid I' going to loose my alarm fob.

Get a lanyard that goes around your neck - like you have at race meetings with your pass/ticket in.

You wear the fob around your neck so you don't lose it, leaving just the key in the ignition.

When you take the key out, clip it to the lanyard so you don't lose your keys.

Simple!

You could be really flash and get a Ducati one for 5.99:

I carry my remote on a chord round my neck and find it easier to get to than in a pocket.
Don't know about the Datatool, but my system has an option to have a zapper built into the key which would be quite handy but then if I lose the key the bike's easy nickable, if I lose just one of key or remote then there's still some level of securuty there. That's my thoughts anyway.

i got a thin nut and bolt and bolted the key and fob together, so that the fob can't move about.
a lot of bikers i see wear the fob on a cord around there neck, probably the best way as if you do loose either they still cant start the bike.

You can attach the key to the alarm fob with a kit that datatool supply. It doesn't catch any part of the bike when the key is in the ignition. It is not as neat as the meta alarm setup but it does the job.

Never been keen on hanging the blipper round my neck. It can cause all sorts of embarasing moments. If your leathers are a "snug" fit it can cause inadvertant alarm! or give the wrong impression as you walk up to you bike in a big car park unzipping your leathers and groping down the front of em!!
