Ducati engine mods. What have you done?
Hi peeps,

i am interested in what sort of engine work that people have had done to their Ducatis. I might be a muppet here and be missing the point but i do not see that many topics on engine work.

What i want to know is............what lurks under the fairing panels.
is it that most owners are happy with what they have. Or is it that we are all really secret tweakers?!!!!!

It might be that owners only want offical ducati mods??? I do not know.

Bit of a silly post i know but only a bit of fun.

I am just interested in what mods have been done. from an enthusiast point of view.

50mm Termis
Lightened Flywheel
FIM Chip

You'll find a few here that have been fettled further usually by people like JHP or Sigma with getting their cams dialled in and various internal bits lightened ...

Don't know about the engine, but I've modified the panels more than once

FIM chip, 45mm Termis, 41T rear sprocket, alloy clutch and vented cover so I can hear the rattling better, (or to save the clutch when it goes down again)

Nothing really....but there are some on the site that have done heaps of fettling.

Swapped the engine in the 748RS for a 998BP engine,

The 916BP will soon be swapping its exhaust for a 54mm system and then after I kill the engine off I'll fit a 996 engine

As for the 955 Corse, ex GSE engine with 54mm Twin injectors, what more can be done, was thinking of trying the 54mm Shower injectors off the 748RS engine and may have to talk to JHP about fitting a starter motor.

Phase 1.

Strada 996 engine, dialled cams, FIM single injector chip, 45/50mm spaghetti headers and Termi cans, one tooth off the front.

Phase 2.

Arrow Ti rods, Cosworth Hi comp pistons (exact CR to be agreed) lightened and balanced bottom end, 431 inlets and G exhaust cams - and maybe some valve/port work. Back to twin injectors if necessary.

Felix, what battery are you running and what is the starting like, must get mine done sometime, other plans are coming together so I intend to build it up to replace the two track Ducatis I hope to be selling.

Cool.
I can see that there are some beefy engine mods out there!

I have a 853 conversion, dialed in cams, minor head work, FIM chip, Termis in carbon(45/50mm) And a top end blue print.

Oh, and the standard vented clutch cover for the proper Ducati sounding clutch.

If i had the spare dosh i think i would like to try different cams and the full big bore race exhaust. If it would get me more power.
