Buying advice , st4s after 748 stolen

Hi
Looking for some opinions.
I had my 748R stolen and was looking to go to wdw next year on an st anyway but could not bring myself to sell it.

I've seen an '02 st4s , 15.5k miles for £4.5 k which seems like a reasonable deal to me.
Whadda ya reckon?

Lots of miles. I'm sure you could get one thats done less for similar money. Make sure its got the panniers fitted as well (nearly £500 to add afterwards)

If it's got a full service history and had the 12K service done it seems like a lot of bike for the money to me, but what do I know?

When I went shopping recently there were 996's around for that sort of price, albeit older ones than '02 (about 2 years older from memory) and a couple of '03 749S's around for about 5.5K. Difficult to compare an ST with either of them I know, but for a 3 year old bike with ohlins and a 996 lump it seems the right ballpark.

Still very much a buyers market though, especially at this time of year...if you get my drift

That's only 5K miles a year! If it's been serviced properly, better to have been ridden than sat in a shed.

Nothing wrong with YELLOW, and mine has behaved as good as gold (not quiet yellow but close enough for the pun)

And Keith if you past through Switzerland to the WDW then let me know in advance and maybe we could meet up n I'll show you some nice alpine roads.

I was told by Craig at JHP Ducati Coventry that my 2001 ST4S was worth about £3,750 in a trade in-that's with 26,000 miles so £4,500 for a 2002 seems reasonable. Brilliant bike for WDW, mines been down to Bologna 3 times, as well as France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, Norway and Sweden.

Sounds like "high side" to me on price, there are better deals around on the ST range - have you looked into the ST3 - prices very competitive - I got a great deal on mine last year.
