***Help*** Hi All, I am a fragle to the Duke scene and am experiencing problems with my 748. Over the last week the performance of Duke 748 Bip has somewhat degraded.
There is no power going to the rear wheel after 4000rpm, irrespective of the gear that I'm in.
I have replaced the fuel filter a few days back, unfortunately this did not sort the problem. Sparks are okay, and the duke is operating from both cylinders without a problem, no misfiring whatsoever.
I have a feeling that the clutch is knackered. Any advice woud be much appreciated.
I have been asking everyone under the sun who have pointed me to a potential slipping clutch issue. The revs are rising but no forward motion. Maybe the clutch plates need renewing??
Then again this could be a total red herring. Any clues??
Try todeling along in a high gear and then snap the throttle wide open, if the revs rise without any noticable increase in speed then it would point to the clutch.
Tried all the gears, and managed to eventually ween the buggr up to 70.
I first noticed loss of power through first gear, 20 miles later it was notiable on all the gears.
Can confirm that my bike now pulls like a fiat punto with a trailer. Oh well. If it is the clutch, would I need to get the whole thing replaced, or just the plates. Any help appreciated.
Don't worry guys, Ash is in Essex (actually he's on the next floor up from me at work!) and I've been trying to help him with all the obvious problems.
He's got the bike booked into TecMoto to have it looked at, so hopefully it will be something really simple like the clutch plates, or simply adjustment of them, to get it running right.
