Go for it Lynn

when you have passed, get a run-a-round for this summer, then really hack Mr Rockhopper off, by getting a bigger/faster bike than his (I've just done this)

Best of luck - and dont listen to him indoors!

Go for it Lynn! you know the only reason why he's so nervous? Coz he knows that once your on one then "scardy cat" will be eating your dust...If you pardon the pun!
GO GIRL! GO GIRL!
Take CKs Advice...Dont listen to a word Rock says, and when you've passed dont listen to a word Rock says...!:P

My missus Helen wanted me to add her tip to Mrs Rockhopper...... She did her bike test in '96 and we have a notorious roundabout here that if you get in the wrong lane on you get an automatic fail ..... Helen was in the wrong lane, checked she was clear to change lanes and consequently passed test on 1st attempt..... she asked examiner why and he said he passed her solely cause she checked she was safe to change lanes!!! Moral of my long winded story..... If you make a mistake DON'T PANIC, remember osmpsl ( if they still use that ) and you may just get a pass !

Good luck from us both!!!

Good Luck + any tips ???

I can almost feel a female forum starting in the DSC - (but wont make any other comments ).....

Good luck with the test, I think lady riders are much better pupils than guys generally as they pay more attention - I'd say study the highway code generally and understand the concepts behind it and all the road signs as I still think almost any question can be asked from it.

Its funny - I was only thinking the other day about the tips I was given as a new rider many years ago .....

I did wonder if anyone had any one-liner tips to pass on.....these are two of the ones I always remember for some reason:

1) Never accelerate into a closing gap!

2) Everyone on the road really is trying to kill you - so ride to avoid them !!

Severe I know but very true.

Cheers - Frank

Well the CBT is all done and dusted! They also did a couple of hours on the road. I think she will be ringing up on sunday to sort out some lessons. At least i hope she will. Blooming cold day to be out riding though.

That second tip about everyone on the road trying to kill you is one that i have always used myself and so far its worked!

Hopefully she will be on a bit later to tell you all about it.

"Shall i grow my hair? It looks awful when I take my lid off!"
"Is this dash of red on my leathers too much dahling? Does it clash with the Ducati red?"

well,I did my cbt and was so chuffed that i'm only just recovering from the hangover (sorry Paul)
Day went so quick it was brill. Did'nt drop the bike or make a totally wally of myself. Best bit was actually getting out on the road. That felt so much better than being in the yard with a brick wall in front of me. That had a definite psychological effect on me!!On the road I felt reasonably safe with Kim the instructor following and giving guidance in the earpiece.
Am sorting out lessons now so hopefully it wont be too long before i'm fully mobile. (My mother was gobsmacked when i told her. Thinks I,m having a midlife crisis)
