Thanks Antonye!
I wasn't aware that Paul James and myself (for it is us who represent the MT on DD) had "no interest in the race series"-that would explain the hundreds of hours I have spent working on it in the last 16months I suppose, and the fact that I was at every round last year apart from when I was out of the country, and all the bloody oil and stuff I lugged around in my motorhome at 22mpg...........
Sometimes all this b0ll0x on the messageboard just hacks me off-if you don't all like what we are doing come and do it yourselves............
And before someone ask's me-yes I am having a crap day!

Monty

We all put hundreds of hours into our bikes....thousands of pounds....because we all love the Desmo Due race series. That shows our commitment and love of the DD..........

Have a cold one on me..

yeah, see if you made more of an effort and got involved people wouldn't pick on you!

i actually think ant has been taken out of context or worded his reply badly. dont quote me but i think he just meant interest as in 'vested interest' not ' not being interested in it' if you get my drift.

Whoa there!

I wasn't the one that said the MT side of the Race Committee would have "no interest in the race series", those words are copied *exactly* from the emails that we (the riders) keep being sent!

This is my issue entirely with that wording. Ian has qualified it better above by changing it to "vested interest" but that was not the original wording.

I still believe that by having two people on the race committee who have "no interest" in the series is a Bad Thing, because to mean it means that they don't give a **** whether the series is a success or a failure. Nor would they care if the riders protested about something because they would still have the ruling vote. This means that 100% of the riders could complain, but the other half of the committee could still out-vote them... and that, in my honest opinion, is not in the interest of the race series. Remember the bit about this series being for the riders?

I'm not knocking anyone who has put effort into the series. What I don't want to happen is for two members of the race committee, who have "no interest" in the series, to come along and undo all that good work and destroy the series.

Go back and read it again. You'll see that I'm actually on your side!

Sorry Ant-if you look at my last line you may see the reason for my lack of humour..............
The actual constitution of the race committee is 2 x MT and 2 x riders reps so in effect the riders have an equal say-the whole point of this is that all 4 of us will hopefully be working to the same end-to make the series a success. It is only in the very unlikely even of a total deadlock that there would be a casting vote from another MT member.
There was an instance last year where CB had to sign up for an event (Snetterton) and was personally liable-if someone had got hurt and decided to sue it would have been him who carried the can not the club and he could have lost his house. That is an extreme instance I know but the MT members are there since we are elected officers of the club and have to hold the interest's of the entire club in mind-not just the racers.
Now can we just put the politics to bed and get ready for some racing and FUN-since that is what we are all doing it for after all-I hope.
