true, if its a75kg per cm rate and you pre-load it to the max, the spring will still yield 75kg resistance for each cm of travel. The important thing is to avoid using all the shaft travel or it'll bottom all the time. You also don't want so much preload you coil bind it.

I went round to see Moto Marelli and am getting a quote for a new Ohlins spring. I am fairly convinced that the problem is just that I have a Std spring and I need one suitable for another 50/60 kgs, anyway they will work that out based upon my weight plus wife an luggage. I will report back after the mods.
