As I didn't last year, I'm not going to use Shell Advance VSX oil in my DD bike... that's not really some kind of racing oil is it?

I use whatever looks best bursting into flames down the start/finish straight... Think I'll use paraffin this year

please think before posting on this, - we have series sponsors ! And the series would not exist if it were not for those sponsors!

apologies... do I have to remove anything?

I didn't write we were given bad oil, just that I want to put even better oil in my bike.

I thought it was a completely fair question. There has been lots of discussion on this board about various oils ability to deal with race conditions, especially as many bikes won't be running oil coolers, so it's highly unlikely that the (very generous) men at Shell would be entriely surpised (or concerned) to learn that so-an-so is using MobilBPAgip VS1XTT Super turbo oil....

I'm sure everyone appreciates their support of the series, but I was pretty concerned when I check at snet and found my oil running at 165 degs C, more than 20 above the maximum designed for that oil. I happily used VSX all season, just made sure I changed it regularly.

Cheers,

Ali
