Cadwell Park - Lots of new DD records

DD Records Updated

We had some new records set at Cadwell this weekend...

Unofficially, Ian Leah took the best part of a second off the lap record, posting a 1:46.60 in Saturday's DD race. Current record by Geoff Spencer with a 1:47.25.

Officially, we have a new Class A race record for 6 laps - sorry to say it's now held by me - 10:56.99. Previous record by Geoff Spencer 11:00.30.

Also a new 8 lap race record - me again (sorry) - 14:34.69

The lap record wasn't beaten in a championship race (I got nearest with a 1:47.70 - painfully slow compared to Ian), so that still stands. Sorry Ian. You'll be pleased to know that you were 3 seconds faster over 8 laps too - on Saturday - Doh!!

Now, on to Class B...

6 lap race record goes to Andy Sheppard - 11:38.60. Previous record held by Skids 11:42.59

8 lap race record goes to Andy Griffiths - 15:23.20. No previous record.

Lap record goes to Paul Payne - 1:52.73. Previous record held by Glyn Hinsley, 1:53.37.

Just goes to show how much everyone is improving.

Well done guys

The improvement is highly visible. Not just in lap times but in racing expertise, I think. It was amazing to see a full grid, although a shame for the reserves who didn't get to ride on Sunday. Big shame for Chris Woods who missed qualifying because of the dodgy No 10 bike but roll on next year. Onward and upward for everyone, I think.

To quote (or misquote possibly) the guy from Fastbikes November issue where the Oulton Park round was featured, the top ten riders could be top ten in any club racing series. Excellent work, or should I say play, from everyone.
