whats the furthest youve been to buy a bike
following on from my little trip to buy my latest bike im wondering if im a bit mad or just a normal person prepared to travel for a good deal

http://www.ducatisportingclub.com/sh...ad.php?t=80555

above is the thread to my story of how and where i bought my 749

the shorter version is that i live in Cornwall, the bike was in Belfast so i drove to Liverpool flew to Belfast, overnight ferry to Birkenhead, ride bike back to airport and trailer home via Poole to collect a 748 for my mate, 700 miles on the road and god knows how many by plane and boat, overall a 35hr road trip.

mad,stupid or dedicated ??? lol

A feeble 620 UK miles is the best I can offer

12 hours of driving with a trailer on the back of the car does not make for much entertainment, especially when you don't have a CD player either!

Was worth it in the end though......

Bought my first 748 in Paris.

Went to see it first (Eurostar).
Couple of weeks later went back on Eurostar with leathers etc.
Bought bike and rode back to Sussex.
First thing that happened in UK was I got stopped for speeding. Luckily had French plates plus fluent in French so feigned being a frog...too much paperwork for Kent rozzers so they let me off.....

I've recently bought a 1929 AJS from the southern-most part of Holland !
Yep, I went to holland to buy a danish registered old british bike
Drove there via Eurotunnel, rode the bike around an industrial estate a bit, and then handed over a big wodge of euros and popped it onto my trials-bike-rack for the journey home.
Left at 4am got home at midnight.
