Best UK engine builder?

Who do we all reckon is the best engine builder in the UK at the moment?

I've been thinking of getting mine tuned up a bit since losing the sale. I know Johnny Hackett is pretty good, but he's also a wee bit pricey.

What do we reckon boys?

Yer, that was my opinion too, but some guys speak of a bloke near York who's pretty tasty.

Any guy who builds a Supermono that wins Daytona in it's first hitout has to be pretty handy - Neil Spalding - Sigma Performance.

Anyone with a reputatipn for building good Ducati engines is going to be pricey methinks.

The guy near York isn't doing any BSB Ducati engines this year, I believe. He is doing the Rizla Suzuki engines and Haga's engines. So, not too slow then.

DTS in Wakefield are supposed to be pretty handy too.
Believe he did a lot of BSB engines in the past few years.
Dont know if he has a website but Ducati Technical Services is their name.

As per Felix s response, I would say it is North Moor Engineering based near York. They indeed do Nori and Leons engines and are heavily involved in Yukis and JRs success at Rizzla. They also did Jason Griffiths Proddy TT winning R6 and The GSE bikes of JT and Walker last year and a few seasons b4 that. They also do Steve Websters sidecar work (nuff said), Dennis Hobbs' BSB privateer and Leighton Haighs supermoto amongst a few other's I've forgottn..

From what I have seen of the chaps they REALLY know what theyre doing when it comes to not just engines, but how bikes work in general i.e. how you should ride them which is a bigger part to success that the engine performance itself.

Dont go looking in the Yellow Pages tho folks for their number. My engine has been with them since TA2.5 in May and is still no closer (and Im a mate of them both). If youre a factory team or championship contender then youll stand a chance of getting to the front of the queue. Racing understandably comes first with these boyz Im afraid........cos it's what they do. Road stuff isn't really a priority

Guido

PS. No Im not turning dyslexsic, Im on holiday in Gran Canaria and theres no commas on this keybaord.......either that or the booze has hit me hard...Ola.....
