748 SPS spec?
Does anyone know the spec for an SPS?
What did it ship with as standard?
I know it comes with standard and race cans but what about chips, wheels, etc?
Thinking about buying one but need to know what might be missing when I go see it.
Cheers

Don't know, but in this month's BIKE mag there is a comparison test on V-twins for under £7k (or summat), and they include the 916SPS.

If you were interested in a lunchtime read....

In addition to quickrik's list the head is no different but the SP does run different pistons resulting in a higher compression. The SPS also has different cams. Some, but not all have a carbon airbox,

& I bought a 748 after a ZX6R/CBR6/GSXR6/Yam100 (but the less said about that one the better - but it was an animal at the time!)..............

Yep, it's me. Gunforhire ex-R6 Net member!
Nice to be infamous.
I bought a 748 a couple of years back when my R6 got nicked (traumatised).
Still got an R6 that I sorted out to race in Roadstocks (street legal) but just don't get the same buzz out of riding it! So it's getting sold as well.
Come on you know what I mean! Start up a V-Twin next to a 4 and you know which one you're gonna want to ride.
Wanted to up my game without opting for more horsepower, hence the SPS. I also figure that it'll become my 'classic' bike and remain permanently in stable.
Nice to have some of the old crew on here.
Speak soon lads.

I would much rather have a 748R over a 748SPS especially the later models with the Ohlins forks. I watched Garry Smith on his at Mallory and was impressed in how well it went and Fil2 can make his lap Cadwell at a very decent pace.
As for me I'm very happy with my R6 found it a lot better on the track than my 748 or my 916 and as it finished 21st in the 2003 Junior TT lapping at 114mph to me it is a classic as it has a history.
