Best ( cheapest! ) mod I've found is to go to Halfrauds & acquire a pair of Halfords 50% brighter xenon bulbs ( a H1 and a H3..)
These actually give ( to my eye anyhow ) a better defined & brighter beam than the 100W bulbs I had installed previously.
If you want to really go for it, go to Ducati designs for the twin headlamp conversion but at $499 plus shipping / import tax & VAT it will be expensive and I don't know if they do a right hand drive ( left dip ) version or if the lamp units are E marked or not.
Cheers
Andy

Glad you asked that Glyn
I had to check the light switch on the way home in the dark on Friday. I couldn't believe the low beam was actually on !

The high beam is more like the low beam on my VFR.

Has anyone had a go on some proper HID bulbs ??

In the short term I think I'll try some of those xenon bulbs.

Cheers,
John.

No they are not !

Just look at this link, the big difference is not only the corded connector, but the depth of the focal point within the lens.

You may be able to get an H3 into the housing of an H1, but the light will be out of focus, and considerably less effective.

As for manufacturers, well, you pays your money etc
My preference is for the kits sold by autolamps-online. Not the cheapest, but I've fitted several kits and never had a problem.
I have them fitted to both high and low beams on the ST, and wouldn't go back to standard - I can actually see the road at night now !
