749s Wanted - Advice please

Dear All

This is my first time back at the site since selling my 748s last year to buy a van, and I'm now in a position to look for a new bike - Yippee!

I'm hoping to go for a used 749s but am a bit confused. In MCN a few dealers are offering new 2004 749s's for £7000. They are full UK spec but are imports, hence the low price. My last bike was an import but I didn't realise until I sold it on. Unfortunately the buyer didn't realise until later either and was a bit annoyed, although accepted that I didn't know either.

So my question is does it really matter? Are they harder to sell on? The dealers say it's the same machine but Ducati dealers say they wouldn't touch them with a barge pole - unsuprisingly.

I think I'll try for a used 2004 model so if anyone knows of one for sale, preferably with a Termi can, let me know.

Regards

Mark.

If you can find a new 04 749S at a dealers and they are still around most will do a deal around the £7.5k mark and you never know with a bit more haggling you could get a cheap Termi as well.

They're all imports mate, whether through Ducati UK or elsewhere. I'm not clear about the details but I think EU laws mean that Ducati have to honour any warranty whatever the import route.

As said by some one else .... all Ducati's are made in Italy and therefore ALL bikes are imports. Just that some are official and some are cheaper.

I can confirm that Ducati will honour warranty on an import bike, the dealer may be a tad awkward, but, will be OK with a little push.
