If you get on to a good local bearing supplier/distributor they should be able to cross-reference the SKF part numbers for you. Also, have you tried places like B&C Express?
A bit of clarification needed though. The part numbers you quoted are for tapered roller bearings, the Ducati OEM bearings are single row angular contact bearings (SKF BA1B 311705 - discontinued).
So are you saying that the numbers you quoted are a direct replacement? I found reference on the net to them being suitable for a Paso, but not sure they're the same as 748R?
My notes say that they're a direct replacement for 916 series based bikes. Sorry, I was assuming that they are the same as 748R.
Are you SURE you need to replace the bearings? Take the steering stem off the bike and look at the bearings. If they are not pitted or dented thay are most likely fine. Is the preload adjusted properly? I usually adjust them so there is just a little preload. Do the clamps move freely without binding? 1.e. if you lift the front wheel off the ground do you feel a notch while turning the wheel back and forth?
It's just unusual in my experience for a newer bike to require a bearing replacement so soon.
Thanks again Shazaam, to the best of my knowledge the 748R bearings are the same as all the other 748/916 derivitives so they should be fine. Only thing I'm not certain about is whether the non-adjustable steering head angle bearings are the same as for the adjustables. I'll have to double check that.
And yes, they're definitely shot, rusted, pitted etc etc.

As far as I am aware the bearings for adjustable & non adjustable headstocks are differant, i would check with a Ducati dealer, top & bottem bearings for a 748e are around £23 each top & bottem.
