Yes it is the proper ducati performance one bought from my local dealer in Newcastle

List price £165. I got it for £120 ish.

It was a rel t**t to get lined up and to get to the bolt on the inside of the swinging arm.

Somebody (probably M & S if it's the dealer in Newcastle) is telling you porkies Ian

According to Georgina at Ducati UK there have been no genuine Ducati Performance huggers for the fabricated swingarm in the UK yet , she has just recieved a part number and orders are being placed now.

Having said that , the hugger in your photo's looks very nice and £120 is a fair price , I would be interested to hear where it really did come from

have a word with Nigel at Sandbar Composites (01295 812 792) all of his stuff is from MS Composites in Germany who make all of the Performance and Corse stuff for Ducati but also sell it under their own name. Out of interest they do a really trick mono seat unit that's the actual part fitted to the 999F04 with the mesh exhaust cover incorporated.
