CAD model of a Ducati rear wheel

Hi all,

I am looking for a CAD model of a Ducati rear wheel the three spoke type that goes on a single sided swing arm as fitted to 748 / 916 / 996 and 998 I think. Does any body have such a CAD model or know where I can get one.

edited to add.

it would be nice if I could also get a CAD modle of the rear axle as well.

Hi,

CAD = Computer Added Design

Basically I am looking for accurate engineering drawings of the wheel and axle so I can see if they are appropriate for a project I am working on. I.e. check clearances of break disks/callipers and other odds and sods.

Hello ceebmoj

This would be something the designers would hold, and I maybe wrong but
I would be very supprised if you could get hold of such drawings, for obvious reasons, the only way I could get information like this was give the part to somebody who could make the drawing up from scratch.

hope this help .

regards

hi,

I assume that Ducati have full CAD or drawings of there components I also assume that they would not release such information (maybe I should ask). However I was hoping that I could find some one who had made a drawing from a wheel while it was off the bike maybe some one had planed to make some custom wheels.

I was thinking of using the parts in a trike. I could buy one and produce drawings of it. But I was hoping to check I could use the parts it before buying, hence wanting the drawings.

Blake

Thanks for all the input

Brembo made the original three spoke design for the 916. The wheel is now out of production so they might just be able to help them. They're not the fastest company to work with though so you may have to try a few times, and you'll have to contact them direct in italy.

I have a few .max files of fairings, clip-ons, etc, but nothing very accurate.

Cheers,

Ali
