My 998 is two years old in July , so its therefore out of warranty ,! So my prob is , do i take it to my main dealer , or drive to England & get the two year service done by some one i will be more confident with , JHP or similar !
If it's out of warranty, then you can save some money by going to a reputable Ducati specialist anywhere, in my opinion.
If you want FDSH then Ducati dealer prices are what you need to pay.
In my experience, the Ducati specialists (but not Ducati authorised) are better than most Ducati dealers. JHP are a Ducati dealer so I guess the prices (and waiting time) will be high but are probably the best in the country.
I'm using TecMoto for my servicing now. Although saying this TecMoto plan to become a Ducati dealership in the near future. Cornerspeed and Sigma Performance are the other highly recommended Ducati specialists.
Antonye ,that's my problem , how long will they stand over it after the service is done ??? Or am i just using the service to do a final check as such ?
Just remembered is it two years /6000miles !
If thats the case then 6k will be up long before two years ,withc also solves my prob cause if i go to my dealer then i still have X monhts left till two years !

Is there not the possibility of extending the Ducati warranty? Ducati Manchester have just extended my mates 998S but it is not cheap. Will find out details if you want?
I had my final service, before the two-year warranty period was up, done at a Ducati dealer. Some stuff was done under warranty even though it had more than 6,000 miles on it.
My theory is that if you take it to a non-Ducati dealer and you find a problem with something, they aren't going to help you much, if at all.
If you do take it to a Ducati dealer and they find something, you're then in a position to start negotiating about replacement under warranty.
The one expensive issue that survives the standard warranty period is flaking rockers. Ducati will reluctantly pay for replacement rockers and damaged cams for out of warranty bikes IF they're installed by one of their dealers ... but not when installed by an independent shop.
The only way to know if you have rocker problems is to pull the cams and look, but your dealer won't do this unless you pay them an additional labor charge. So, my advice is to (at least) bring your bike to a Ducati dealer for the last valve adjustment before the warranty period ends and have them verify that there's no rocker or cam damage. It could save some arguments later.
