Arrow A Few FAQ's for the New Messageboard

I thought it might be useful to have a Frequently Asked Questions area from the FAQ button on the main menu bar - that was more specific to the DSC.

I've only built three topics so far but have a look please and comment if you think this is worth while or not:

couple of things Frank:

1. When either AK or I are logged in, we stay logged in for the time we are using the net, even tho we leave to go to another site etc.
However if using a new session (say after coming off pc for a few hours) : if going back onto the site, we both have to log back in again (this is for either of us at home, or AK at work, or me on Bruvs puter)

2. I can use the 'edit' on the post, but once I click 'save' I am given a screen to log in! I am unable to edit my posts.

ideas?

Getting back on Topic please:

1)
I've had a similar problem Charlotte, that I thought was because I'm using a different web browser to most - Firefox.

However, only today I found out the same thing happened using internet explorer.

Gizmo - has set me off to the right track, bless him.

The previous cookies still existed on my PC for the OLD DSC website.
I did a windows search for 'cookies' as I wasnt sure where Firefox would store them (might be easier to do this search rather than looking anyways) and within the cookie folders - I deleted any files that were named:

"your user name here"@ducatisportingclub.com"

Taaa Daaa - It not only now remembers me correctly but I stay logged in as well, which was not happening before.

2)
You might be getting logged out as above before you get around to actually saving - try the cookie trick above - if its NOT that I'll search deeper.

Mood: is it the weekend yet??
As Frank says try the cookie thig first, some of you also use upnorth, ukmoc and visordown, do you get the same login out problems there?? all 4 forums usee the same software so any differences either come from the cookie or from the configuration of VB but i'd guess most admins don't really start messing with that so it should be default on all 4 forums, i know ukmoc is similar to mine as i admin there as well.

Giz - works fine on UKMOC UpNorth & VD as usual mate.
Checked cookies - all appears as it should
Just tried to edit one of my posts again - still cant do it, as each time I try & 'save' I then appear to be logged out, tho if I then click on the 'todays posts' for example I am still logged in
