This thread is VERY graphic, but serves as a stark reminder of why cleaning your chain with the bike in gear is NOT a very clever thing to do!

Ouch !!

A guy that worked with my father used to stop the pillar drill in their machine shop by grabbing the chuck. One day a lump of swarf ripped one of his fingers off.
Now I'd like to say he learnt his lesson, but about a year later he lost another finger doing exactly the same thing !
Stupid is as stupid does...
