So which is more dangerous

I know its Yesterdays news but I was wondering which was more dangerous

a, Speeding on a motorbike along the Tingewick bypass- sentence 3 months in prison

or

b, driving a car for 16 miles the wrong way on the motorway while three times over the limit- sentence 3 months in prison

How can they view these two offences as deserving of equal punishment, in each instance how many other road users were actually put in danger. In case b would it have attracted a longer sentence if it had been a motorbike in place of a car.

The law really is a joke at times

There was a case a few years ago when a retired Major drove 10 miles down the wrong side of a motorway and got let off with a warning because the magistrate agreed that some of the road junctions can be confusing (if you're blind and senile!).

Going back to your point there just isn't any consistency in the law at times.

And....the driver of the car worked in a police laboratory.
But that would be cynical of me.
