Where's my bottle of beer then? How do I claim my prize?
Sorry I made a mistake with the price of the service, they had told me £189 over the phone but when I got there to pick the bike up the price I had been told on the phone was wrong,
It was £180.96 !!!! ( I must wear my ear plugs more often )
Do not know if it was just my imagination but I took the scenic route home and the bike seemed so much faster, pulling really strongly, could my cam timing have been out a bit and now it has been set up it has made this difference ??
Anyway well pleased and they have quoted about £400 ish for next years 12,000 mile service which will include new belts and shim set up if required.
Wylie1 pm me your address and the price of a pint is on its way, thats how pleased i am.
The service was carried out at M & S motorcycles in Newcastle who are a Ducati main dealer ( Known as Ducati Newcastle to us lot ) by Neil there head Ducati technician.
On the invoice it has 'carry out annual service as per manufacturers schedule' ( accounted for mileage ), check and bleed front brakes, checked recalls/requested issues, Carried out full set up/fuel/timing/c/o2 Parts used, oil filter, 4lts 10w40 oil, washer, filter cover gasket, fuel filter. Labour is charged at £38 per hour.
I think that as my bike has only done about 1600 miles since my 600 mile service there was nothing major to do but they assured me that everything that needs to be checked on this service was carried out.
I asked about the belt service and they said it would be around the £400 - £440 mark.
The bike did feel as though it pulled much stronger, whether it does or if its all in my mind I will find out this weekend, weather permitting.
