Open pipes like the 54mm and 57mm termi's or Leo Vinci's need either a new ECU with the correct fuel map or a Power Commander
Termi's come with the new ECU so they would need no setup.
If the pipe doesn't have a matching ECU then you would use a Power Commander
To setup a power commander properly you need a dyno and a skilled operator. If they have already worked on a similar bike I think the process is pretty quick
