Re: Official bikes
I'm buying my 748s from an offical dealer.

Just phoned to check how they are getting on etc. He says they are changing headlight and speedo as it has Italian ones on it and Ducati send them by mistake to the UK?

Are they any other differences between uk and italian machines, anyone else had this happen? Is he trying to sell me a parallel ? Anyway of checking elswhere if its an official machine?

Thanks

The only way to tell for sure is by getting the frame number and then asking Ducati directly.

However, there are no major differences in the models except clocks and headlights (apart from Californian models with their emissions extras) so I wouldn't be too worried about it ... except for the difference in price!

cant really see how one can be sent by mistake. they have bloody great stickers on them when being assembled in the factory with us, uk, aus, etc on them but it is possible i suppose.

Seems odd I must admit. I'd get a frame number and check with Ducati UK. Who is the dealer?

If it's a parallel they would have to change the speedo as well.

I'm getting a bit worried now, he said headlight and speedo will be changed.

Dealer is Riders of Bristol.

I'd go there, write down the frame number and ring Ducati UK. I hope the dealer isn't trying to pass off a parallel as an official import. Ducati UK won't be amused either, I reckon.
