996 Gearbox

I would be grateful for any useful advice anyone can give me here.

I recently swapped my 22k mile 916bip engine for a 5k 996S, the new engine is superb, but at Brands with Focused Events on Wednesday I was continually missing gears. The main problem areas were changing down for Druids and changing up coming out of Graham Hill, where I kept finding extra neutrals. Most annoying as it meant I would nearly end up in the gravel at Druids and get passsed by everyone at Graham Hill. If I worked really hard at being super firm with the gear changes, they would mostly be OK but I know I was able to change gear on the 916 without even thinking about it and never hit a neutral.

Ideas/suggestions as to cause gratefully received.
