Can someone go and get cold for 2 mins?

I'm formulating a plan, but as I don't have a bike, could somebody please go and measure their exhaust for me?

I want to know the outer diameter of the exhaust system, where the mid-section/link pipe slips over the front section/downpipes.

The idea being, if I race in DD, I would have stock front pipes and some Norton Commando silencers (coz they're about £800 cheaper than Termi ones )

The Commando silencers are 1" 3/8 (35mm).

Would they fit ish?

A little 'encouragement' isn't a problem, I can go to Ali's with some precision left-handed hammers :P

Down pipes on a monster 583 are 40mm.

On a 2 into 1 ss, they are 35mm.

Alan, not needing to get cold - still sitting on the sofa:P

Go and get cold ? Surely everyones bikes are kept in a nice heated workshop ?

I can confirm that they are 20mm, you can get away with using some nice 20mm conduit and you won't lose any performance...trust me...

There's a bike in the carpark here at work .. I just went and checked for you Dom. The outer diameter is 15mm and is made of plastic ducting.

Go to your local plumbing supplier and get some ducting and you'll be fine.

We tried the plastic ducting on the dyno, the 20mm galvanised conduit was found to give a better midrange and the pea shooter look exhaust is sooooo modern

And some solid tuning results to back it up - well done Tony.
