Missed you! (noise alert!)

Missed yooooo:P

Thanks to AGE996 for kicking off our hols with a good rideout to Bude (5 Ducati's dear, you cant count!:P )

We spent the next 10 days or so (till money ran out! ) hooning & pottering about, over hill & dale, round twisties & along awesome straights.

Only met one (very nice ) copper, who wanted to know where he could get a zaust like Alan had on the tri-colour!!!

After going along the A39 most summers, we still find it full of suprises - tractors .... new tarmac mud more new tarmac....

Have decided that her majesty is the best thing on wheels - except for the very very narrow 1 in 3 hills, with gravel & 90 degree bends all combined - think I'd have been better off on the M620 - but not long to wait, till she is back into road trim anyway, as my winter hack

Only missed 2 days - one due to hangover - the other due to lots of wet stuff, but 'bimbled' out in the van instead

Definately a 'must do' for anyone with a couple or more days to spare.

'Hi' to the 748'er we met in Boscastle last Sat - hope you didnt get too wet heading to Newquay - we headed off in the 'dry' direction

Quick road assessment:

A39 from Clovelly to Bude
White road to Welcombe mouth
Brendon hills
Lynton/Lynmouth
Exford (white horse pub = )
Road from Torrington to Stibb
Widemouth Bay
Bradworthy (roads are good for losing ones hubby )

Best pub meal: New Inn, Kilkhampton
Worst drink: The Smithy, Welcombe (London prices, grubby pub )

Lily, thanks for the lovely offer, will firm up dates after xmas! Tho due to planning on taking 2 bikes on the DD circuit next year, we might just have to settle for an overnighter instead of longer...

I was hoping to show AK the delights of the Lakes next year, as I used to be up there quite often in the 80's & early 90's & some roads have still stuck in my mind, and am in contact with old 'horsey' mates still for accom

AGE - Porlock was more scarey on the bike, than when I used to drive 8 leggers across there

Dom Henners & Dementor - shurrit!:P
