Hello peeps,

I have been thinking about upgrading my front brakes over the winter and have been thinking of starting with the master cylinder and then the front calipers.

I have been looking at the Brembo Radial master cylinder and was wondering if it came with a front brake light switch? If not are there other good makes that have the switch I am after? Or is it worth doing at all?

The other thing was the calipers. At present, I have the Brembo gold four pot ones with the one piece brake pads. I know they have the 60 or 65mm spacing when bolting them to the fork legs.

Is there that much difference between the ones I have and the Brembo ones that run the four pads.? ( Goldlines I think.)

At the moment the front brake set up is good. Its in good order with braided hoses and always has fresh fluid etc. But I have heard Ducati owners stating that these four pad brembo calipers are awsome.

I just want a few words of wisdom if any one has upgraded with these or any parts that I have mentioned.

Both the radial master cylinder and the 4 pad calipers upgrade offer considerable improvement over what you have and are well worth doing. Try the m/cyl first though.

they dont come with a switch but you can get a in line pressure switch that does the job,
as Tim said well worth doing
the m/cyl will prob be enough

I found the 4 pad calipers to be a great improvement over the originals, regularly come up on E-bay, got mine for £150 inc hoses and pads.

And yes their is a alternative to the Brembo radial, it comes with a switch and a folding lever which can come in handy if your bike goes down on that side.
Can't remember the name at the Mo I know DJTera and some others have them.

I have just fitted a Brembo Radial Brake cylinder to 996 and find pain to get in right position so on full lock not to touch clocks( Dremel out sponge around clock and have cut end of throttle). Also you will have to bend original aluminium bracket for resovoir(but it will fit). If you use a banjo pressure switch single should be ok, but a bouble will touch air tubes on lock. I have a switch conversion come from USA, Yoyodyne have made a conversion part which locates original Ducati break switch so will stop problem of two lines and carbon tubes. Would have like to have tried the Discatti type cylinder, but spares may be a pain(always fron Itally).

In line pressure switch. Where does that fit too, the break line? And what are they like?
