Looking to buy or sell?

Time of year will mean a big difference in normal prices.

Its unfortunate for a few guys on here but it is a buyers market at the moment, winter is a killer, look at JHP, he is laying staff off at the moment so if he cant make money on bike sales who can.

You done the trawl of the MCN, Trader etc.

Mileage sounds good for the year, is it genuine?
MOTs and service book will prove the mileage as such.
HPI clear, FDSH etc usual stuff
Carbon extras?
What cans?

Guesstimate would be in the region of £4000 - £4750 if its as good as you say and low mileage but dont expect to sell it at the moment if your selling.
If your buying nail em to the ground.

Old Yella's comments are spot on but think the price is high, at this time of year i'd put it up at £3995, sad to say, and still probably get no calls or stupid offers!

(but what the hell do i know after trying to sell my mint SPS blah, blah!)

Been looking for a decent 916 for the last month - who's finding good ones for around 3-3.5k - i've not seen any

Anyone want to give me some tips where to look (apart from biketrader, MCN and e-bay)

Cheers
Jas

Hooley,

Personally i think you will struggle to find a "good" 916 advertised for 3 to 3.5 thousand. However if someone is keen enough to sell.

I have rarely seen any 916 advertised at less £4,000. Ducatis are no different to any other make in that there is threshold below which the "going rate" doesn't fall below.

Like I say what price bikes are advertised for and what they achieve price wise can well be different. The places you are looking are OK I would try www.autotrader.co.uk the bike bit and do a country wide search and limit your price to see if anything is available advertised something near the price you want to pay.

When you are looking at a sub £4000 916 you need to be aware of the cost of any parts that need replacing is likely to be higher than Jap stuff. A service if needed is likely to cost a good bit more than jap stuff especially if the bike is due cam belts.
Now is a good time of year to buy a bike and get it serviced ready for next year if you have the money or credit to do it now.

Ray.
