The fifth round of the World Superbike championship will take place at the 'short' International circuit at Silverstone instead of the usual Grand Prix layout.
The International track misses out on the fast Hangar Straight and Club Chicanes, both perfect opportunities for passing manoeuvres.
Instead the 'short' International circuit by passes these features with a tight infield making use of spectator vantage points to full effect.
The lap distance will be down from 5.036 KM of the GP circuit to 3.561 KM of the International track.
WSB manages to make a mess of things yet again IMO.
Think i will give it a miss now. And watch from my armchair. Very disappointing that a world championship is being fought out, on the short circuit. I'm booked for Assen and Brands WSB so that makes up for it.
The first major change is to use the shorter 3.6km International track, as used by the British Superbike championship, rather than the longer 5km GP circuit, in an effort to provide the fans with more action.
...dunno how using a smaller circuit will provide more action
