Shake down at Brands...update

What was all this about good weather...it was windy, cold, overcast and/or drizzling (heavily) ALL DAY.

Bike looks nice (to my eyes anyway) and attracted lots of hmmmmmm...comments....but make your own minds up on Sunday, those of you attending.

Started slowly enough...wet...nervous...running-in new barrels & pistons etc, did three laps and thought...bu**er this...and thrashed it to an inch of its life. A few teething problems...like fasteners falling out all over the place..including a couple of bolts I discovered in the belly-pan at the end of the day...which I can't locate the origins!!! In addition, the bike won't go down the gears at the same time as braking (any ideas???) and the clutch starts slipping after about 15 minutes into each session (so hopefully won't be a problem in the race)...but all too late now anyway.

Lastly..there was ME...didn't feel too bad considering I hadn't even slung a leg over a bike since busting myself at Cadwell DD last year. Couldn't push 100% due to the conditions, bike problems and that niggling thought of re-visiting the local A&E ward. Wasn't helped by someone blowing-up big style on Paddock Hill RIGHT ON THE RACING LINE....so just to get you other DD protegonists out there worrying unnecessarily...watch-out...I SAW THE SLICK

See you at Brands

Nice one Andy.

We found a few odds and ends in the belly pan over the course of the season, and came to the conclusion that they had just been picked up off the track as we couldn't recognise any of them!

Sure as eggs-is-eggs they've come off the DD machine. They were definitely Ducati's manky gold finish and complete with washers and split washers!!!

Yes, there are a couple of bolts that are supposed to be loose in the bellypan for the bike to change gear properly
