An arm, leg + one major organ would probably cover the cost of a genuine item.

QB carbon have a larger capacity tank on their website:-

http://www.worldofqbcarbon.com/produ...99products.htm

Although the tank range is poor on 749/999, I still can't see the value in changing it.

In the US, the retail is about US$2,300, not sure how much it is elsewhere.

It gives you about 50km more range.

It's value is relative... some people would spend that money without even blinking. Some really need the extra range. To most, it's probably not worth it

My tank on the Carbon 749 below and in my Avatar is the development tank that QB made for the 749 / 999.

Looks stunning and much "harder" than any Ducati Item. Keeps the lines of the standard tank but is about 3 to 4 inch higher and is flush against the steering damper.

Looks great with the race style filler, race breather and roll over valve and chin bar recess in the top of the tank. General shape was based on the factory WSB tank.

Capacity is around 22 to 23ltr ( I think) and would work out cheaper than any Ducati option.

Phone QB and ask for Ian, mention the DSC and Mark with the Carbon 749.

Honestly I don't know. I got my tank along with all my carbon as part of a deal with QB in Feb 2003. They used my bike as their development bike to create the full range of Carbon goodies for the 749 / 999.

If any one is interested they should phone QB and ask for Ian, always a deal to be done.
