Which Luggage?

I'm buying a new Mulitistrada and wondered the best way to go.
Is it best to get factory topbox & panniers, or just the topbox & get my own aftermarket luggage?

cheers

Nige

OEM is probably going to be the neatest fit IMHO.

i have the non fango panniers that came with my St, which are probably the same as the OEM ones and they are excellent. On a journey from Salisbury to Heysham where it rained about 80% of the journey nothing got wet and we dont have the liners.

I agree as i have the ST panniers as well. Just kind of a pain to switch back and forth with the brackets. Threads tend to strip pretty easily, so be careful when doing the change-over. However, once on they carry a lot of stuff and go on and come off much easier than when new.

The NonFango panniers which are OEM for Ducati are excellent, they have a really good seal and don't leak. I have done several long touring trips ons my ST4S with them and have never had a problem. With the Multistrada you have the option of 2 sizes, the 'sport' panniers or the larger 'touring' units-I would go for the larger ones personally, they are even bigger than the std boxes on the ST range.

Non-Fango are now out of business. As far as I'm aware Ducati luggage is now being made by Givi. Whatever, I'd still recommend the Ducati stuff rather than 3rd party ones.

I am really pi88ed off to find that non fango have gone bust, probably not as much as their employees and suppliers. I have the panniers and top frame and plate for the non fango top box so if anyone has or sees one available prefereably in red I would love to hear from them.

You must be more adept at E baying than me as I found only a couple of those you had listed, thanks I have been looking. Most are the smaller 40 litre top boxes and I am after the 52 Litre (two helmet) box and whilst posting this have just ordered a new one - I will believe it when I see it though. If not I may have missed out on the complete set albeit in black.
