top yoke removal

Hi
Im trying to remove the top yoke from my '98 SS900ie without removing the forks.
Everything is removed but I cant remove the aluminium round plate above what I assume is the steering stem nut underneith. The plate is about 2 inches in diameter and has a series of 5mm holes in it.
Does it prise off or unscrew?

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Hmmmm - check out the 2000 SS900ie manual here:

http://www.ducati.com/doc/catalogue/SS900ie_Eu-00.pdf

Page 92 shows item 26 as a 'cap' is this in the area you are having problems?

Sadly this all appears very different on my 93 900ss - good luck

Frank

I can only guess that you either need circlip pliers to unscrew it or it pushes on and off and has become corroded in place.

Nelly will certainly know the answer - try a nice U2U (sorry !)
