If memory serves me right, it should go on the opposite side to speedometer drive plate. So that the locking nut which fits into that groove is on the other side, as the locking nut is on the speedo side. Hope thats clear, starting to confuse myself now?
Steve just checked 3 of my wheels one 3-spoke has it on the rightside (Non Speedo) where as another 3-spoke and a 5-spoke have it on the speedo side. I haven't disturbed any of these but when I do swap bearings I put the notch speedo side
Thanks for the replys there is no info in the bible, I will see which end the spacer is when I take my other front wheel off, before tapping the last bearing in.
Does seem odd, its there for a reason I guess, maybe all will be clear in the morning.
