Titanium termis

I have titanium termis on my 2001 748s but they do not sound that loud to me - may be going deaf?! Silly question but how do i tell if they have any baffles in at all if i dont take them to bits? Against my 600ss with an open pipe the 748 sounds quiet?

Have you got just slip on end cans or a half system.

If you look at the twin section of pipe by your right foot peg, does it look like a contiuous piece of single tube, or does it have a section about 8 inches long that appears to be fatter than the rest welded into the system?

If its the latter, then its probably becase you have not replaced the middle section of the system, and in the wider piece you see also contains baffles. Changing this bit over to a straight through section will release the full noise and power.

yep, its the link pipe.

Watch ebay (cheap but usually part of a full system), ask on here (a matter of luck) or buy new from a dealer (expensive).

Make sure you get the correct size. What size are the end cans? 45 or 50mm?

Well you need to really measure the part that enters the link pipe section...if you have a good eye you could do this with a ruler with them in situ.

You can measure the open end of the exhaust, but I'm not sure if its 50mm at the exit, if that necessarily means its 50mm all the way down to the link pipe???

well, if they just replaced the originals, then (sorry, been a bit slow here!) then they must be 45mm I guess!

Its really obvious just looking at the link pipe. If it is not a 100% smooth single piece of pipe, and has any kind of sectioned welded into it...then its baffled.

If you haven't replaced this at any point then that will be the case.
