Bodywork question

I have just been looking at this bike on ebay and noticed that it has a carbon belly pan.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...723327 1&rd=1

It does not say anything about have new side panels though and I am a bit confused by this.

I know that some 998 have a belly pan, but my 2002 748r panels meet underneath even though they are the smooth sides the same as 998.

Is it likely that this bike on ebay has just had new side panels or was there some option to have a bellypan that i missed?

Yep. Looks, at the very most, it's had a black "panel" sprayed on. The belly pan fairings go right back to the wheel.

just looked at it closer and you can see the change and the fasteners so I am guessing it does have one on.

mmmm............I think you're right. In fact I'm pretty sure you're right.

More worrying is that I know the bike I fitted the clutch for him!!
Must have had the side panles cut to suit............

Only the first small photo came up on here...damn proxy! looked again and have got the full description and more photo's, yep carbon belly pan, looks like he's either swapped lowers also, or more than likely cut them to suit the belly pan, in fact if you look closely at the photo of the l/h side near the side stand you can see the belly pan extends past the end of the panel, not a neat fit like a 996R/998R Bayliss/Bostrom reps. Cut to fit

looks to me like there's a belly pan attached... the panels look standard tho, probably been cut to suit the pan?
