Bridgestone BT014\'s????
So I've come down to two tires for the SS. The Pilot Powers vs the BT014's. Leaning towards the Bridgestones just based on looks alone. It's the wifes bike so I'm sure performance is going to be way above par with either. Most likely never ever feel a difference between the two. She picked the Bridgestones...Hey, it is her bike. Are there any mileage reports on the BT's??? Any comments in general?

I got similar mileage to Rob on an ST4s with the 014's

Never tried Pilot Powers so can't comment,

I prefer Pirelli Diablos, get nearly 4000 miles out of them on ST4s, and on 2 different 996's and they work well for fast road riding, preferred them to 014's. In fact i preferred the older 010's

Sorry they're not on your wifes list.

010's were a great tyre as Shaun says, but I was told recently that the 012's were crap and Bridgestone had gone back to using the same carcass on the 014 from the 010, although I suspect the compound etc has moved on somewhat

I guess mileage is a very subjective subject. I have 4,100 miles on my Pilot Powers on the 749 and they are just BARELY starting to flatten off in the center. I was told I'd never get that kind of mileage out of any high performance tire.

Thank god for that, i thought it was just me. I have used 010's on all sorts of bikes and loved them, fitted 012's on the 916 and the front felt a bit light and vague after the 010's, then fitted the 014's and i cant stand them.
Rear feels good but the fronts just feel so so bad and i get no feedback from them. almost like its permantly damp.
I am unsure of what to try now, mileage doesnt concern me but the feel and predicatibility does. the 012's were a bit to sudden at the front and the 010's seem suited to the road as there are no sudden tips when it leans over, just nice and progressive and predictable.
I was also looking at pilot powers but as i need to replace them on the 916, RC30 and Mille i would rather find a tyre that works for me on the road and not the track

Can't understand why 014's get such bad rep done 3700mls and the rear is just starting to square off a bit grip in the dry is good enough that i have no chicken strips and a scuffed slider and in the wet including torrential downpours they have gripped fine .
The other Bridgestones iv'e used 012SS where fantastic tyres too and great in the wet for a supposedly track orientated tyre
