SS Fairing bolt collars - sources please?

Totally tired of the BLUE scruffy looking, naff Alloy bolts and collars on my 900ss.

So, I'm changing to stainless as I'm working my way through things. - I remember seeing a source somewhere for the large recessed washers (is collars the proper name?), but can't remember who.

Dave Middleton maybe?

Hawk fastners have them but not in the larger sizes yet.

Ideas please.

Frank

ps - I dont fancy converting to Dzus fasters either - however handy they are.

Frank, aren't these small enough to paint yourself without looking like a diy job?

Bare in mind though Frank they are a milled finish rather than polished/smooth, plus you'll need countersunk screws to go with them.

I found that buying original Ducati parts worked out about the same price as aftermarket ones.......

Ahhh, but the magic words 'stainless steel' are what swings it for me.

gotta love it.

DesmoParts make s/steel and titanium fairing washers. US$15 a pair for stainless, US$25 for titanium - I bought 4 pairs for my 93 900SS (seat and fairing). Also sell complete body and engine kits containing stainless steel fitting and nylon washers. Bought a set of each and I'm slowly replacing the original bolts with stainless - being sure to use some anti-seize compound of course.

Welcome TassieDave,

I'd forgotten about them and I actually bought a std bolt kit from them on Ebay.com about 3 years ago and there are still some bolts I have not fitted yet!

I do like the look of the domed fairing washers.

However, given shipping costs and waiting time, I think I'll go with Darrens suggestion + its nice to wave the flag whenever possible.

Good post - Cheers.
