Be interesting to see the BBC votes coming in.
For nostalgia and irony (killed in a Rover and not on a bike) I think Mike the Bike.
For keeping going and winning with less appendages than others - Doohan
Rossi is good - but is he THAT good?

I stood in the heaviest rain and wind at Donington for the Moto GP this year.
I think I saw something a bit special that day

...and 1998 & 2000 he was runner up. (almost won the 500 title in 2000 too)

Rossi has won 51 of 93 races since he moved up from 250cc in 2000.

I think it was mentioned at the end of todays race that Rossi has had 113 podiums out of 153 starts - That's incredible!!

I voted yes but how can you compair Doohan,Rainey,Gardner,Hailwood, etc the were all of a different age. Not to mention the types of bikes etc. They were all bloody great in their own time.

Rossi is a modern day riding God he makes fun of the sport without him It might be like F1

Lets hope he does not retire from Motogp next year as it won't be the same without him.
