Lightbulb 748R clutch

My 748r 01 model has got a standard ducati slipper clutch fitted form the factory,
My question is that the pressure plate when i took it off did not have any gear/teath on it. Would it be ok to replace the pressure plate with a billet pressure plate with gears/Teath on it ???? And will it stop the slipper from working ??
Thanks
Jamie
