FFS! £16 off ebay for a pattern lever, but he'd rather trust his life on tie wraps and tent pegs!

And why swap the brake and clutch levers? Why not bodge the clutch instead?

The close up picture of the lever is a classic. If someone is prepared to ride around like this then what else is wrong with the bike? It would put me off completly.

Based on the question someone asked, it did about 4000 miles in 4 years with no service. Sounds like the belts still haven't been done yet either.

Hmmm, ignoring the bodges-difficult I know-what about the fact that it is registered 2005-but is a 900SS?
Ducati changed to the 1000SS in 2003-so this must have been new old stock-in the showroom for 2 years before it was sold??

Having recently snapped a front brake lever off in the south of france, iI can honestly say you do try everything to get the bleedin thing back on.

I ended up riding with no front brake for 1000 miles. It was safer than my "botch" applying the brake itself as I rode along.

That said, if I was selling my bike when I got back I would go down Antonye's route of a £16 pattern lever to make it look right.

Hmm ... maybe I should get round to fitting the race flip-up brake lever to the 748 before the next big trip!!
