Ducati 998S running too hot?

Just bought my first Ducati so have a lot to learn!

Seems like she's running a bit hot especially in traffic when temp can rise to say 110

Is this way too hot and at what temp should the fan start?

Any idea at what temp the fan should be kicking it as I've not noticed it yet.

And what temp are you guys seeing on the gauge?

cant remember what the tempartures are but i know that if youve got twin fans they kick in at seperate temretures.

i always used to get upset when in traffic if i was on my 996r coz it seemed to get hot fairly easy, i was assured by dealer everything was fine with the bike, i just decided that id avoid town centres, coz theyre not what i bought they bike for anyhow

sorry if its not much help.

Not too worried about my neather parts getting fried! Just want to check the bike ain't getting too hot. Seems to be getting too hot but maybe that's just my inexperience with my first Ducati.

According to my manual (which strictly only covers 748 & 996, not 998), the fan comes on at 93 deg C. I've certainly been hearing mine the last few days when I've come to a halt.

Fans on my 749S kick in at about 100 to 105, in town / traffic seen it go to 110 but never over. Check to see if fans are coming on and rad water level is OK. ( Not sure how you do that on a 998)

Fan is coming on - but doesn't seem to do much in the way of bringing the temperature down. The fan did stay on though even though I switched the engine off. Anyone else been out today with an idea of what temp theirs was running at?

First fan on my 998S switches in at about 100 degrees. It doesn’t bring the temperature down when you are in traffic but tends to hold it from rising fast. Max mine as gone to is 110 degrees. The fans normally run on for a while after switching the ignition off. You should find that a couple of minutes of a good blast will bring the temp back to around 80 degrees.
