999S Mono for sale advice reqiured

Unfortunately due to personal problems at home, I think I will have to sell my 999S.

It's a 2004 model on a 54 plate but V5 states first registered February 2005.

Total mileage is only 1530, as only used on occasional weekends.

Extras, white number board, carbon yoke protector, carbon fuel filler cap protector, carbon hugger (short), led rear lights cost @ £95.00 from ducatinine.net, and a brand new Racefit WSB replica exhaust, which was replaced, this one only done about 30 miles@ 760.00.

Basically, how much do you think I will get for it, after having a quick looksie I think about between £10,000 and £9650? Should I sell privately? go to a showroom and say how much for my bike or MCN

Your valuable responses greatly appreciated.

After that it will be the lids to go 2 not even worn except for trying on to fit, and then the sets of leathers I have amassed over my time

I will be sorry to let go but hey sith happens

cheers

Neil

Bugger sorry to hear the news...

Personally I'd avoid MCN etc (especially at this time of year too) all I got was canvassers last time I tried to sell a bike in there, but it is a wider audience I guess.

Dealers might be an option sale or return, it's on display and you may fall lucky, I would say it all depends on how quick you need to sell

neilkeogh,

I second what JPM says.

Speak to a local Ducati dealer (If there are any left at the rate they are closing)

Stick it in on a sale or return basis, most places will be happy to help. That way you are getting people through the door who have an interest in Dukes at least.

Word spreads fast in the shops as you know and someone will know someone who wants what sounds like a cracking bike at a below new price. The kick back for the dealer is made on the finance if the customer needs it, don't let them take the **** on the price by adding too much on for themselves it will only take longer to sell. After all the bike is ZERO risk to them as they are standing nothing on it.

Only factor going against you is the time of year, things are dead, keep the faith and don't drop the price too drastically to get rid as you will take a huge loss.

Standard is the way to go for some reason, flog the exhaust just now and get her back to standard. Off load the lids and leathers while you wait and hopefully someone will come along soon.

Good luck.

Regards

ScottyB

Thank you guys for your sound advice and some u2u's.

I am at my parents tomorrow but will try and get some pics up of my leathers, lids, boots, gloves!

I had a quick look around the garage,I've come across some clear front indicators, red tape to go around the wheel rims, a vented front fenderI know there is an abba stand around somewhere

I also have fitted a gold 1/2 open clutch cover

Hopefully, God will smile on me and take my beloved bike off my hands
